The Best Wine to Serve This Christmas

Now, we just turned the corner and are about halfway through the holiday season. Between now and January 1st, there are approximately 20 holiday celebrations encompassing a whole variety of cultures and faiths. The most broad based celebrations are Christmas and New Year's.

Today, we're going to take a look at the best, most unique wine for Christmas. This will pair well with those heartier, winter dishes.

During the holiday season, most people drink Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. What I'd like to do is suggest some more unique options that will be absolutely perfect with your traditional dishes like turkey, prime rib, and roast duck ... oh, and gravy.

Here are the red wines I recommend:

  • Blaufrankisch

  • Bordeaux Blend

  • Cabernet Franc

  • Malbec

  • Nebbiolo

  • Sangiovese

  • Syrah

  • Zinfandel

If you want to know the real "home run" (or considering the time of year, I should say the "touchdown" or "pick six"), go with the Blaufrankisch.

To learn more about this wine and why it's the missing piece to your world-class Christmas feast, check out my recent video.

In this video, I also share tips for white wine lovers this holiday season.

If you give Blaufranksich a try this Christmas, let me know what you think.

Merry Christmas!

Cheers!!
